Sales Executive - Clearing and Forwarding

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Sales Executive for its clearing and forwarding business in Nairobi. The role focuses on business development, lead generation and closing sales of shipping, customs clearance and logistics services, with a commission-based pay structure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential clients needing shipping, customs clearance and logistics services, and generate and follow up on leads through calls, visits, referrals and networking.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, follow up to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
• Prepare accurate quotations and negotiate pricing, service terms and contracts within company guidelines.
• Advise clients on suitable solutions, conduct sales presentations and meetings, and close sales before handing them over to the operations team.
• Monitor market trends and competitors, keep records of leads, prospects, quotations and closed deals, and submit regular sales reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Previous sales experience in clearing and forwarding, shipping, logistics or freight is preferred.
• Proven ability to generate leads, acquire clients and close sales.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, proactive and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Good networking and business development skills.
