Sales Executive - Merchant Acquisition

About the role

A leading fin-tech company, represented by its recruiter, is looking for a motivated, target-driven Sales Executive in Nairobi to support merchant acquisition. The role reports to the Business Unit Manager and supports onboarding new merchants onto a digital payment platform tailored to retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, approach and acquire new merchants to onboard them to the platform.
• Promote the benefits of the digital payment solutions, mobile POS and financial products.
• Conduct field visits, cold calls and in-person demos to drive merchant registrations.
• Assist merchants with onboarding, documentation and initial usage support.
• Meet daily, weekly and monthly acquisition targets and report performance to the Sales Lead.
• Maintain good relationships with onboarded merchants and support upselling.
• Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to improve product offerings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
• 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in B2B or merchant acquisition.
• Experience in fintech, digital payments or financial services is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Exposure to field sales, cold calling and client onboarding.
