Sales Store Clerk – Visitor Services Representative

About the role

The Sales Store Clerk supports visitor services at a Presidential Library and Museum, handling admissions, ticketing, and museum store sales while providing information about exhibits and library operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate visitor attendance records.
• Respond to oral and written inquiries about hours, admission fees, merchandise, and exhibits.
• Assist visitors with ticketing, admissions, and orientation film viewing.
• Make sales of museum merchandise and manage the sales desk.
• Plan, create, and implement display projects in the store area.
• Handle day‑to‑day problems independently when supervisors are unavailable.
• Perform routine clerical duties across library functions.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or national.
• One year of relevant full‑time experience (public, private, or volunteer).
• Ability to pass a background investigation and complete federal employment declarations.
• Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and lift medium‑weight materials.
• Successful completion of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process.
