Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor (Manufacturing)

About the role

Byd East Africa Ltd is looking for a Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor to oversee full-spectrum accounting and financial internal controls in its manufacturing business. The role covers accounts payable and receivable, cash flow, tax compliance, manufacturing cost accounting and leading a small team of junior accountants and bookkeepers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee AP, AR, cash flow and petty cash management, and review daily bookkeeping entries for accuracy and compliance with IFRS and local standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, cost analyses and management statements.
• Manage tax compliance through KRA iTax and e-TIMS (VAT, PAYE, WHT, corporate tax, NSSF/SHIF/NITA), handle KRA queries and audits.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting: cost allocation, BOM verification, inventory valuation and production wastage analysis, and take part in physical stock takes.
• Use ERP systems (Zoho Books / Odoo) and AI tools to automate workflows and improve reporting.
• Lead and mentor junior accountants and bookkeepers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA (K) or ACCA qualification is required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Fluent English (Swahili is a plus).

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Kenya tax laws, e-TIMS integration and KRA compliance.
• Hands-on proficiency in Odoo or Zoho, advanced Excel and AI productivity tools.
• Leadership, communication and team management skills.
