Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial operations for multiple client accounts in Nairobi. The role involves full‑cycle accounting, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting audits across diverse industries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete month‑end close process.
• Perform bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile external systems such as Shopify, payroll and expense platforms.
• Code transactions accurately and maintain organized workpapers.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
• Review and supervise the work of junior accounting staff.
• Process 1099 forms and communicate directly with clients.
• Support audits and special finance projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 4–6 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, including SaaS, NGOs and inventory accounting.
• Advanced English (C1 level) required.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (advanced proficiency).
• Month‑end close and full accounting cycle expertise.
• Bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliation.
• External system integration (Shopify, payroll, expense platforms).
• 1099 processing.
