Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level Accountant to join Threecs Business Solutions Limited in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Kenyan tax regulations, and supporting the finance team in strategic reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, handling vendor payments and client invoicing.
• Process monthly payroll and maintain precise payroll records.
• Support procurement and tender teams with cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, quotations, and BOQ costing.
• Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, withholding tax, income tax) in compliance with KRA requirements.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, petty cash and produce periodic cash‑flow forecasts.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure audit‑ready financial records.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and inventory valuation records.
• Ensure proper filing, documentation, and safe custody of financial records.
• Monitor outstanding customer accounts and follow up on receivables.
• Support HR and Administration with financial aspects of procurement, insurance, vendor contracts, and other administrative matters.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform any other accounting and finance duties reasonably assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• CPA (K) qualification or ACCA, preferably completed or at an advanced/final stage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a trading, ICT, engineering or technical solutions environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience in procurement, tender costing, BOQ costing and pricing is an advantage.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and statutory payroll deductions is preferred.
