Senior Associate – Early Years (Human Development)

About the role

Genesis is seeking a Senior Associate to lead analytical workstreams within its Early Years team, supporting governments and partners to design, finance and deliver integrated early childhood systems. The role combines rigorous analysis, client engagement and mentorship in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analytical workstreams on live client engagements, from approach design to final deliverables.
• Manage small to medium sized projects, including workplans, budgets, team coordination and administration.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses such as system diagnostics, financing studies, PPP feasibility, workforce assessments and policy benchmarking.
• Develop core client outputs – technical reports, investment cases, policy notes and slide decks – and present findings to senior government and donor audiences.
• Engage directly with clients in workshops, technical reviews and in‑country meetings.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to proposal and business development activities.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of substantive experience in early years consulting, research, government or international development.
• Outstanding academic record (top 10% of cohort) in Education, Early Childhood Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Statistics or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Proven ability to own analytical workstreams independently and deliver high‑quality client‑ready outputs under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; additional language (French, Arabic or Portuguese) is a plus.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to enhance analytical and written work.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong quantitative analysis skills using Stata, R or Python.
• Experience working with learning assessments, EMIS, DHS, MICS or other administrative datasets.
• Effective use of AI tools for data analysis and report generation.
