Senior Backend Engineer (Node) – Remote LATAM

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to join a fast‑growing social and professional community platform. The role is fully remote, focused on LATAM time zones, and will help scale the backend to support high‑volume user engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and ship scalable backend features using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Architect, expand and optimise RESTful and/or GraphQL API endpoints for real‑time client applications.
• Implement and maintain high‑performance data structures in MongoDB and Redis.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, delivering measurable architectural improvements.
• Participate in daytime on‑call production support, handling bug fixes and performance issues.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI to ensure reliable code delivery.
• Collaborate within an Agile team alongside frontend engineers, product managers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend services.
• Fluent English for daily communication.
• Experience working remotely and in Agile environments.
