Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, building and maintaining scalable, low‑latency services in a cloud‑native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Node.js micro‑services using AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation).
• Optimize backend performance, scalability and reliability for millions of users.
• Implement secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS).
• Set up monitoring, debugging, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services.
• Proven ability to work independently in a distributed remote team.
• Experience with database design using PostgreSQL, MongoDB or DynamoDB.
