Senior Credit Analyst – Corporate & Mortgage

About the role

The Senior Credit Analyst will evaluate credit proposals for the Corporate and Mortgage business units, ensuring compliance with KCB credit policies and CBK prudential guidelines. The role supports the development of credit processes and provides insight into market and industry trends.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new, renewal and amendment credit proposals from Corporate and Mortgage units, recommending decisions beyond delegated authority.
• Verify and analyse credit documentation such as bank statements, financial statements and other supporting information.
• Support the creation and update of credit policies, manuals and product standards for Corporate and Mortgage businesses.
• Visit clients, branches or centres to gain a deeper understanding of the business and market context.
• Respond to audit requirements and ensure remediation of audit remarks for the Credit Unit.
• Monitor Corporate and Mortgage portfolios for renewals, limit expiries, early vintage performance, migration and non‑performing assets.
• Prepare industry and peer analysis reports using credit reports, press releases and other relevant sources.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in corporate credit analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business Administration).
• Professional qualifications such as ACIB, CPA(K) or a Master’s in Business Administration.
• Experience in risk management, debt recovery and managing teams is desirable.
