Senior Credit Analyst

About the role

The Senior Credit Analyst will evaluate and decide on credit proposals for corporate and mortgage business units, ensuring compliance with KCB credit policies, CBK prudential guidelines, and market standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess new, renewal, one‑off and amendment credit proposals, recommending those beyond the delegated limit authority while meeting TAT, SLA and quality standards.
• Verify and analyse credit documentation such as bank statements and financial statements, liaising with relationship managers and branches for clarifications and additional information.
• Support the development and updating of credit processes, policies, manuals and product standards for corporate and mortgage portfolios.
• Conduct client visits independently or with relationship managers to gain deeper insight into business operations and market conditions.
• Respond to audit requirements, address audit remarks and ensure rectifications for the corporate and mortgage credit units.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including renewals, limit expiries, early vintage performance, migration and PAR, and prepare industry reports and peer analysis papers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including corporate credit analysis, risk management, general banking/lending, debt recovery and team management.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree in Business Administration is advantageous.
• Professional qualifications such as ACIB, CPA(K), AA or equivalent are preferred.
• Strong understanding of credit guidelines, financial statement analysis and market dynamics.
