Senior Finance Manager

About the role

A well-established infrastructure company, now expanding from road construction into real estate and commercial building projects, is looking for a Senior Finance Manager. The role provides strategic leadership and oversight of all finance functions, aligning financial management with the company's evolving business model and supporting efficiency, transparency and informed decision-making. It is based in the Nairobi area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall finance function, covering budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, compliance and audit coordination.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the leadership team on business planning and investment decisions.
• Oversee financial operations across the construction and real estate divisions, understanding each unit's drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Maintain robust internal controls and financial systems that ensure accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.
• Guide the financial strategy as the company shifts from traditional roadworks to diversified construction and property development.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other stakeholders.
• Work with heads of department to give financial insight for operations, procurement, project management and growth initiatives.
• Monitor and manage company-wide financial risk and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support the preparation of board reports and investor presentations where needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
• CPA-K or ACCA qualification is required.
• At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-entity or diversified business operations.
• Experience in construction, real estate or similar project-based industries is highly desirable.
