Senior .NET Developer & L3 Application Support Engineer

About the role

EPay Services, part of the Vensure group, needs a seasoned engineer who can dive into code, query databases, and explain complex payroll platform issues. You will be the primary L3 contact for web‑based applications, owning incidents from diagnosis to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for L3 application support, handling escalated client issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot performance problems, bugs, and system errors in .NET applications and SQL Server.
• Trace root causes through code and database layers, deliver fixes or collaborate with development teams.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor application performance, recommend optimisations, and create SOPs and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in deploying, testing updates, patches, and enhancements.
• Assist end‑users in understanding the applications to avoid predictable issues.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and stakeholder teams during live incidents.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of industry experience, including substantial L3 or BAU support on web‑based applications.
• Hands‑on .NET debugging and bug fixing (C#, ASP.NET.NET Framework 4+ and .NET Core).
• Front‑end troubleshooting experience with JavaScript and jQuery.
• Strong SQL Server skills: query writing, optimisation, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views.
• Experience with SQL‑based reporting, especially SSRS.
• Proven ability to perform genuine root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder and end‑user interaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as GitHub.
