Senior Power BI Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to join Sonata Software’s Modernization practice in Bengaluru. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining interactive dashboards and data models that enable data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Implement data transformations using Power Query and publish solutions to Power BI Service.
• Build efficient star or snowflake data models, manage fact and dimension tables, and create aggregation tables.
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs and time‑intelligence calculations.
• Optimize model performance for large datasets, including incremental refresh and composite models.
• Leverage Microsoft Copilot Studio for AI‑driven analytics and automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Power BI development and data modeling.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and Excel‑based reporting.
• Ability to design scalable solutions for datasets containing millions of rows.
• Familiarity with AI/automation tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio is a plus.
