Senior Programme Management Officer (P5)

About the role

The Senior Programme Management Officer (P5) is based in the Nairobi Office of the Conduct and Discipline Service (CDS) within the Administrative Law Division (ALD) of the UN Office of Human Resources. Reporting to the Chief of CDS, the incumbent will support the implementation of UN conduct standards and provide strategic legal advice on internal justice matters.

Key responsibilities

• Implement United Nations standards of conduct for all categories of personnel across the UN Secretariat.
• Provide strategic and legal advice on internal justice matters and represent the Secretary‑General before the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.
• Handle disciplinary matters relating to Secretariat staff members and coordinate actions to prevent and respond to unsatisfactory conduct.
• Empower and support UN Secretariat managers in addressing conduct and discipline issues.
• Ensure adherence to high standards, focusing on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and responding to allegations of misconduct.
• Oversee remedial actions, including assistance to victims of misconduct.
