Senior Python Developer

About the role

Join a remote development project building a next‑generation mobile app for a professional football team. As a Senior Python Developer you will design robust backend services, integrate AI capabilities and create scalable APIs that power fan engagement and monetisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python with FastAPI or Flask.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for mobile features, fan engagement and digital services.
• Integrate AI‑powered features from providers such as OpenAI or Hugging Face.
• Develop asynchronous data flows and ensure reliable communication between components and external services.
• Design, optimise and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT) following data‑privacy best practices.
• Containerise applications with Docker and support cloud deployment, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation and testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Python development, building production‑ready backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of FastAPI or Flask and RESTful API design.
• Practical experience integrating AI/ML services via APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.).
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, JSON data exchange and efficient data processing.
• Experience with relational and/or non‑relational databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, cloud deployment and CI/CD pipelines; Azure experience is a plus.
• Good grasp of application security, authentication protocols and data protection.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, international team and communicate effectively across time zones.
