Senior Security Officer (Grade E/F)

About the role

Mama Ngina University College, a constituent college of Kenyatta University, is recruiting a Senior Security Officer (Grade E/F) to head the University College Security Department. The post covers the overall coordination and operation of security services, including internal, outsourced and SGB and VIP protection officers.

Key responsibilities

• Head the University College Security Department and coordinate internal, outsourced and SGB and VIP protection officers.
• Coordinate and carry out office and field investigations into alleged violations of policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
• Prepare reports and briefs on investigations and recommend corrective actions and improvements to security operations.
• Address security concerns affecting staff and students and manage the workflow of cases assigned to security officers.
• Gather and analyse intelligence to develop preventive strategies for protecting college assets and operations.
• Assist in developing and delivering security training and sensitisation programmes, and mentor and develop security staff.
• Liaise with law enforcement stakeholders when needed and perform other duties assigned by the Deputy Principal.

Required profile

• Earned Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Security Studies, Criminal Justice or an equivalent from an accredited institution, OR rank of Inspector or above in disciplined forces.
• Minimum six years of relevant work experience, or nine years if coming from disciplined forces.
• Certificate of clean record of discharge from disciplined forces.
• Valid basic first aid certificate.

Required skills

• Proficiency in crime and investigation management.
• Knowledge of cyber security.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
