Senior Software Engineer (AI)

About the role

Turaco is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will build production‑grade features for our AI‑first insurance platform. You will work hands‑on across the full stack, leveraging AI coding agents daily to accelerate development while maintaining high quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship features using Java, Spring Boot, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Integrate AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude) into the development workflow for code generation, review, and automation.
• Own the architecture, correctness, and reliability of the components you deliver.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Continuously improve AI‑driven tooling and best practices for the whole team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer building scalable, micro‑service based systems.
• Comfortable using AI assistants to augment coding tasks and able to rigorously validate their output.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to ship high‑quality code quickly.
