Senior Software Engineer – .NET Core & AI Lead

About the role

Sonata Software is looking for a senior‑level engineer to lead .NET Core development initiatives and drive AI‑assisted coding practices across multiple client projects. The role blends deep technical expertise with hands‑on leadership, ensuring high‑quality delivery for complex, high‑volume financial services applications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
• Lead design and implementation of .NET Core, C#, MVC, Entity Framework, Web API, and JavaScript‑based UI solutions (jQuery, Bootstrap, Kendo UI).
• Develop and optimise complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, and performance‑tuned queries.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS.
• Drive Agile Scrum ceremonies, estimate user stories, and ensure rigorous unit testing.
• Oversee code deployment across development, staging, and production environments and provide production support.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce best practices in spec‑driven development.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tools such as Cursor AI and GitHub Copilot to boost productivity.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional .NET development experience.
• Strong background in financial services or mortgage domain preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage full software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
