Sheetmetal Worker

About the role

Amentum is looking for a skilled Sheetmetal Worker to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair a variety of sheet‑metal components while ensuring safety, quality, and structural integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet‑metal products such as ducts, vents, roofs, gutters, and other structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to prepare materials and execute tasks.
• Operate and maintain sheet‑metal tools and equipment, including shears, brakes, drills, and welding machines.
• Measure, cut, bend, weld, bolt, and solder metal to precise dimensions using manual or computerized equipment.
• Install and maintain HVAC ducts, roofing panels, and other architectural sheet‑metal components.
• Inspect completed work for alignment, compliance with specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and contractors to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety regulations.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in sheet‑metal fabrication, installation, or repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work safely in an on‑site environment.
• Commitment to using personal protective equipment and reporting hazards.

Required skills

• Sheet‑metal fabrication and installation.
