Site MEL Assistants for IRS Campaign

About the role

The MEL Assistant will support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning functions for Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) activities in Busia and Siaya counties, Kenya. Working closely with sub‑county MEL staff and the IRS Coordinator, you will ensure high‑quality data collection, verification and reporting across all campaign phases.

Key responsibilities

• Support training of spray operators on MEL tools, indicators and mobile data collection platforms.
• Set up and troubleshoot IRS mobile phones, tablets, SIM cards and applications.
• Verify daily data at point‑of‑collection for accuracy, completeness and GPS capture.
• Mentor field teams on accurate data collection and indicator understanding.
• Update spray performance tracker, monitor real‑time data flow and produce weekly progress reports.
• Participate in sub‑county review meetings and compile summary reports for the MEL Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, IT/Computer Science, Public/Community Health or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Busia and Siaya counties.

Required skills

• Experience with mobile data collection platforms (e.g., DHIS2).
• Basic troubleshooting of smartphones and data syncing.
• Knowledge of GPS data capture.
