Site Reliability Engineer (Nairobi, Kenya)

About the role

Qure.ai is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of its AI‑driven healthcare solutions. Based in Nairobi, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams and travel across Kenya and other African countries to support on‑site deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and distribute Qure.ai’s AI and computer‑vision software on Linux and Windows platforms following established procedures.
• Manage on‑premise server infrastructure at hospitals and clinics, including provisioning, OS patching, configuration hardening, and capacity planning for GPU‑intensive workloads.
• Diagnose and resolve recurring production issues, applying structured debugging across OS, network, and application layers.
• Implement and maintain reliable services using infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Monitor and analyse system performance across cloud and on‑premise environments, identify bottlenecks, and optimise throughput.
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to detect and respond to issues proactively.
• Participate in incident response, post‑mortem analysis, and root‑cause remediation.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce infrastructure hardening, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with healthcare data protection standards.
• Translate technical findings into clear communication for non‑technical hospital stakeholders.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in site reliability, DevOps, or related engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience managing Linux and Windows servers and GPU workloads.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot across operating system, network, and application layers.
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Kenya and other African countries.
