Social Media & Content Creator – Wildlife Conservation NGO

About the role

A pioneering, African-led wildlife conservation non-profit is hiring a full-time Social Media and Content Creator in Nairobi. The role develops, produces, publishes and manages digital content that communicates the organization's mission, programs, achievements and impact, turning conservation science, educational activities, wildlife stories and field experiences into accessible content for different digital audiences. The position is on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and others), including a monthly content calendar, captions, hashtags and consistent brand voice.
• Grow the online community and monitor comments, messages and mentions.
• Create short-form videos, reels, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts, interviews and educational clips, working with the film team and capturing content at school visits, field lab activities and conservation events.
• Support newsletters, website updates, campaign materials and impact stories, and flag sensitive content for review.
• Coordinate content planning, editorial coordination, fact-checking and approval workflows.
• Track social media performance and prepare monthly reports on reach, engagement and video performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, Film Production, Multimedia, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in social media management, digital content creation or digital communications.
• Demonstrable experience managing social media accounts and producing content for organizational or institutional audiences.
• Portfolio of original content such as short-form videos, photography, graphics, captions or digital campaigns.
