Stationary Engineer

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Stationary Engineer to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing stationary equipment such as boilers, chillers, generators, and HVAC systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment including steam boilers, air compressors, generators, and HVAC systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, conduct daily readings, adjustments, and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and part replacements on boilers, pumps, refrigeration units, and compressors.
• Start, stop, regulate, and monitor power generation and distribution systems, including chilled water, fuel, and steam systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and associated controls.
• Conduct inspections, follow preventative maintenance schedules, and keep detailed equipment logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, U.S. government, and military regulations.
• Respond to emergencies, make necessary adjustments, and assist in planning upgrades or replacements.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience operating and maintaining stationary engines and mechanical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum 1 year) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and comply with deployment standards.
