Stores & Inventory Controller – Nairobi

About the role

Our client, a premium Made‑in‑Kenya leather goods brand, is looking for a Stores & Inventory Controller to manage both raw‑materials and finished‑goods stores, ensuring accurate records in the inventory/MRP system.

Key responsibilities

• Receive raw materials and purchased goods, verify quantity and quality, record receipt dates, and flag shortages, overages or damage.
• Issue materials to production against manufacturing orders and record consumption accurately.
• Receive finished goods, book them into the inventory system, and handle pick, pack and transfers.
• Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, bin location management, and discrepancy investigations.
• Keep stores clean, organized, labelled, secure, and apply FIFO where appropriate.
• Flag low stock and support replenishment by notifying the Inventory Planner.
• Maintain receiving records, stock movement logs, and uphold safety and security standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in stores, warehouse or inventory control, preferably in manufacturing or retail distribution.
• Hands‑on experience with an inventory/MRP/ERP system and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong numeracy, accuracy and disciplined record‑keeping.
• Organised, reliable and honest.

Required skills

• Familiarity with inventory/MRP/ERP software.
• Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs) and cycle‑counting practices.
