Supervisory Trial Attorney – Deputy Chief, Fraud Division

About the role

The Department of Justice’s National Fraud Enforcement Division is seeking a Deputy Chief to serve as Supervisory Trial Attorney. In this senior leadership position you will oversee the Global Trade & Commerce Enforcement Section, guiding complex investigations and prosecutions that protect the United States from fraud, illegal trade, and related threats.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Assistant Chiefs and Trial Attorneys, ensuring effective case management and professional development.
• Allocate personnel and resources across high‑impact fraud investigations and prosecutions.
• Lead trial litigation in district courts on behalf of the United States.
• Provide strategic advice to internal and external partners, including the cross‑agency Trade Fraud Task Force.
• Contribute to division budgeting, hiring decisions, disciplinary actions, and technology initiatives.
• Develop litigation priorities, policy recommendations, and legislative proposals for complex white‑collar and corporate fraud.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a federal prosecutor handling fraud, trade, or white‑collar criminal matters.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Deep understanding of U.S. fraud statutes, trade regulations, and related enforcement mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
