Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist (GS-13)

About the role

The U.S. Department of Labor seeks a seasoned professional to lead its Wage and Hour enforcement program at the GS‑13 level. As a Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist, you will guide regional enforcement activities, coordinate policy development, and serve as the primary liaison with district offices and the Solicitor’s Office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Enforcement in creating integrated plans, policies, and procedures for regional wage‑and‑hour enforcement.
• Evaluate program impact, effectiveness, and alignment with national goals.
• Determine case suitability for litigation or administrative hearings and ensure robust evidentiary support.
• Act as Deputy Director of Enforcement, resolving district‑office issues across programmatic, technical, and procedural areas.
• Provide feedback on district offices’ annual operational plans to meet regional objectives.
• Maintain compliance with WHD policies, supervise staff performance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Represent the agency in public‑relations, training seminars, and liaison activities with local, state, and federal officials.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance and meet probationary requirements.
• Specialized experience in wage‑and‑hour enforcement, litigation evaluation, and supervisory management.
