About the role
The Supply Chain & Logistics Officer supports Trócaire’s programmes in Somalia, ensuring that supplies and services reach communities efficiently and on time. Reporting to the Country Director with a dotted‑line to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, the role involves procurement, logistics coordination, inventory and fleet management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs and RFTs, review quotations, conduct bid analyses and manage purchase orders and contracts.
- Arrange transportation and customs clearance for goods destined for Somalia, ensuring compliance with export/import protocols.
- Assist with inventory and asset tracking, maintain warehouse organization, and support stock counts at headquarters and field locations.
- Support fleet oversight, including vehicle usage monitoring, maintenance, fuel consumption reporting and rental contract management.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CHPP, CPSM).
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on procurement and logistics experience.
Required skills
- Procurement processes: RFQ/RFP preparation, bid analysis, PO creation.
- Logistics coordination: transport arrangement, customs documentation.
- Inventory and asset management using stock management systems.
