SWMC Equipment Operator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a SWMC Equipment Operator to support a U.S. Navy solid waste management program on Diego Garcia. The role involves safe and efficient operation of automotive vehicles and equipment in compliance with strict regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and equipment according to NAVFAC P-300 and 49 CFR Part 383/391 standards.
• Transport loads related to solid waste management while ensuring proper handling and safety.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation equipment checks and document inspections.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment through routine inspections, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Keep all required operator licenses current and on‑hand during operations.

Required profile

• Fully qualified and licensed to operate automotive vehicles and equipment under NAVFAC P-300 and 49 CFR regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain country‑specific visas and pass contract medical requirements.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Required skills

• Compliance with NAVFAC P-300 operational standards.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 383 and Part 391 safety regulations.
