Tailor – Clothing Alteration & Repair for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a skilled Tailor to provide professional clothing alteration, repair, and tailoring services for a unique US Navy program based on Diego Garcia. You will work directly with military personnel and other stakeholders to ensure garments meet strict standards and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform alterations such as resizing, hemming, mending, button replacement, and other adjustments.
• Measure and fit garments accurately for clients.
• Repair and restore damaged or worn clothing, including uniforms and specialty garments.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines, irons, and other tailoring equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep records of completed work and inventory.
• Provide exceptional customer service, offering tailoring advice and addressing inquiries.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and adhere to established procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in clothing alteration, repair, or tailoring.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
