Tailor – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Tailor to provide professional clothing alteration, repair and tailoring services for a US Navy program based on Diego Garcia. The role involves working with a variety of garments, including uniforms and specialty clothing, to ensure they meet strict military standards and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform alterations such as resizing, hemming, mending, button replacement and other adjustments.
• Measure and fit garments accurately for clients.
• Repair and restore damaged or worn clothing with high‑quality workmanship.
• Handle diverse fabrics and garment types, including military uniforms and personal clothing.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines, irons and other tailoring equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep records of completed work and inventory.
• Provide excellent customer service, offering tailoring advice and addressing inquiries.
• Prioritize tasks to meet alteration schedules and deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year professional experience in clothing alteration, repair or tailoring.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum 1 year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).
