Talent Scientist – Graduate Lead

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Talent Scientist to lead graduate hiring initiatives in Nairobi. You will partner with academic institutions, drive data‑focused talent analytics, and ensure a bias‑free, high‑impact recruitment process.

Key responsibilities

• Build partnerships with leading universities to promote graduate opportunities.
• Create compelling propositions to attract top talent to Canonical.
• Deliver real‑time talent analytics and support business hiring workflows.
• Conduct in‑depth behavioural interviews and provide insights on motivations.
• Maintain relationships with global stakeholders, monitor hiring metrics, and ensure process consistency.
• Use data‑driven insights to improve decision‑making and streamline hiring tools.
• Champion diversity and inclusion by removing unconscious bias from recruitment.
• Collaborate with external platforms to maximise ROI and travel to company events 2‑4 times a year.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic background with a Bachelors or Masters in Psychology or a people‑focused discipline.
• Experience hiring technology talent, especially for graduate programmes.
• Strong data‑driven mindset with ability to produce measurable outcomes.
• Passion for scientific talent selection and familiarity with psychometric assessments.
• Proven ability to conduct behavioural, competency‑based interviews and train stakeholders.
• Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to work remotely effectively.
