Technical Operator – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Operator to join our busy food manufacturing plant in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves ensuring that production equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the maintenance team and adhering to strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilise machines according to schedule.
• Calibrate gauges and verify safety parameters.
• Monitor and reorder oil, diesel and grease supplies.
• Perform weekly maintenance and thorough cleaning of equipment.
• Check feed‑water closure to the boiler and conduct CIP titration of sodium hydroxide.
• Observe cold‑room conditions and maintain ISO processes.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years hands‑on experience in a food production environment as a Technical Operator or Mechanical/Electrical Technician.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Calibration of gauges and safety devices.
• Clean‑In‑Place (CIP) procedures.
• Implementation of ISO quality processes.
