Technical Sales Engineer – Optical Networks

About the role

The Optical Network Technical Sales Engineer drives solution strategy and design for customers across Central East & Western Africa, acting as a trusted technical partner throughout the sales cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative optical network solutions that meet customer business and technical needs.
• Lead solution architecture, RFP responses and influence network design decisions to win opportunities.
• Guide customers on network evolution, providing recommendations for scalable, future‑ready architectures.
• Promote adoption of Nokia’s optical portfolio and identify opportunities for business growth.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in optical networking technologies, network architecture and transport solutions.
• Hands‑on experience designing and optimizing optical networks and translating requirements into high‑performance solutions.
• Proven experience with Nokia 1830 PSS and deep knowledge of optical products.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
