About the role
The Technical Sector Officer – Education (AIM) will support the AIM Regional Manager in planning, implementing and ensuring quality delivery of the AIM education pathway in Kakamega. The role involves facilitating teacher training, adapting curricula to local contexts and promoting gender‑responsive pedagogy for young adolescents and adolescent girls.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate training for teachers, school leadership and programme assistants on gender‑responsive pedagogy, mentorship and tutoring.
- Develop, review and adapt teachers’ guides, training manuals and school improvement plans in coordination with the AIM Education Specialist and BRAC International technical anchors.
- Support the establishment of MoUs with ministries, schools and district officials and coordinate with alternative education providers for enrolment.
- Monitor programme progress, prepare reports for government education officials and ensure timely data entry into the BInsight MIS.
Required profile
- Graduate or Post‑Graduate degree in Education, International Development, Gender, Sociology or related field.
- 3‑5 years of experience in education project implementation, curriculum development, teacher training and gender‑equality initiatives.
