Territory Manager - Lubricant Reseller

About the role

A leading Oil and Gas company, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for a Territory Manager for its lubricant reseller business. The role covers an assigned region and focuses on driving sales growth, market penetration and customer retention by managing and developing the lubricant reseller network. It aims to achieve sales and profitability targets, expand market share and implement the client's sales, marketing and distribution strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the lubricant market segment in the region to ensure effective and profitable growth, and achieve yearly volume and margin targets.
• Handle customer issues on lubricants promptly and provide sales and related services to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Gather market intelligence, including competitor information and quarterly price surveys, and recommend actions to the lubricants manager.
• Deliver lubricants training to customers and prospects in the region.
• Ensure strict adherence to credit policy by customers and support resellers on stocking, pricing and merchandising.
• Advise management on market and customer changes affecting monthly sales forecasts, blending and importation of lubricants.
• Optimize overheads such as equipment maintenance, seminars, promotions, mileage and stationery.
• Identify and develop new marketing opportunities and maintain profitability and market share.
• Build strong relationships with resellers and key customers, provide commercial and technical support, monitor competitors and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and brand requirements.

Required profile

• An engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Agricultural Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in a sales or commercial environment.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Valid driving licence.
