Territory Sales & Distribution Lead – Diapers

About the role

Career Directions Limited is looking for an experienced Territory Sales & Distribution Lead for its Diaper department. The role drives sales growth, market penetration, distribution and category development within assigned territories. There are seven locations: Eastleigh, Thika, Kericho, Eldoret, Coast, Matuu and Emali. The candidate must have sold diapers hands-on in the last two years, hold a strong network of distributors, wholesalers and retailers, and live in or be willing to relocate to the assigned area.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and revenue growth for the diaper and baby-care portfolio and develop territory sales plans to meet monthly and annual targets.
• Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, pharmacies and baby shops, and negotiate commercial terms.
• Expand product distribution and market penetration, and build product availability, visibility and in-store merchandising.
• Monitor competitors, pricing, promotions and product launches, and share market intelligence with New Product Development.
• Support the launch of new products, monitor distributor and retailer performance and keep stock available.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and performance reports, and act on underperformance.
• Travel extensively within the territory to map markets and visit customers.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in FMCG sales, with recent experience selling diapers in the last two years.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and strong understanding of the diaper category.
• Established network of distributors, wholesalers, retailers and supermarkets in the assigned region.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills, and willingness to travel.

What we offer

• Fixed salary plus variable pay of up to KES 50,000 per month, paid out as 20%, 50% or 100% depending on whether targets are reached at 50%, 70% or 100%.
