Tractor Technician

About the role

The Tractor Technician is responsible for keeping company tractors and trailers in optimal condition through preventative maintenance, repairs, and advanced troubleshooting. This hands‑on role combines mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills to ensure reliable operation of the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain tractors and trailers using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components, electrical circuits, and engine/driveline/ABS systems using diagnostic software and wiring schematics.
• Perform routine inspections of brakes, wheel bearings, electrical and air systems.
• Recondition, replace, or fabricate parts as needed, including cutting, welding, and metal fabrication.
• Document work performed and follow safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Technical school degree or equivalent experience in tractor/trailer repair.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
