Transport Manager (M/F)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent, full-time Transport Manager in Mombasa. The role leads and manages the company's transport operations, covering planning, fleet utilization, transporter relationships, regulatory compliance, cost control and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute transport operations so cargo moves on time, and monitor performance to fix delays and disruptions
• Optimize truck allocation, routes and transporter use, and plan loading schedules, departures and deliveries
• Build and maintain relationships with transport providers, evaluate their performance, support onboarding and take part in rate negotiations
• Ensure compliance with customs documentation and transit regulations (T1s, Exit Notes, T812) and keep up with regulatory changes
• Work with Commercial, Customer Service, Customs and Warehouse teams and keep customers informed on shipment status
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and track costs, buying rates and KPIs
• Lead and coach the transport team, conduct performance reviews and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in transport or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role

Required skills

• Clearing and forwarding, customs procedures and regional transit operations
• Working knowledge of KRA, KPA, URA and regional customs systems
• ERP and transport management system experience is highly desirable
