Trial Attorney – Asset Recovery Section

About the role

The National Fraud Enforcement Division seeks experienced attorneys to join its Asset Recovery Section as Trial Attorneys. In this permanent role, you will help protect the financial integrity of the United States by seizing and forfeiting assets obtained through fraud.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial investigations to identify assets for restitution and forfeiture.
• Coordinate with criminal case teams, analysts, and investigative agencies.
• Research and brief legal issues related to judgment enforcement.
• Draft and litigate writs of garnishment, execution, liens, and other post‑judgment remedies.
• Negotiate payment agreements and represent the United States in contested enforcement proceedings.
• Conduct depositions, manage civil discovery, and appear in federal court for hearings.
• Advise on strategy, recommend charging decisions, and develop litigation priorities.

Required profile

• Qualified attorney with experience in civil and criminal litigation.
• Demonstrated expertise in asset recovery, forfeiture, and financial investigations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with prosecutors and law‑enforcement partners.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
