Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. You will be the face of the company, inspecting vehicles at dealerships, auctions and off‑lease locations, and communicating findings to clients in a clear, trustworthy manner.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify damage, missing parts and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates.
• Capture multiple overall and damage photos, upload them via company‑issued smartphone, and match images to the correct vehicle.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Partner with Territory Managers and sales teams to support upselling and cross‑selling of services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers and independent buyers.
• Travel to various locations, working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift 25 lb or more, and work in various weather conditions.
