Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. You will be the face of the company, providing accurate vehicle assessments and delivering exceptional customer service across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease sites to identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates and supporting documentation.
• Capture multiple photos of each vehicle, match them to the correct unit, and upload them via the company‑issued smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Collaborate with Territory Managers and sales teams to up‑sell or cross‑sell services and products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, ensuring high client satisfaction.
• Travel to various locations, including dealerships and private homes, to perform inspections and generate reports.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers on the digital platform and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labor such as standing, lifting 25 lb+, bending, and squatting.
• Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Strong problem‑solving aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
