Waitstaff - Java House Eldoret

About the role

Java House Africa is hiring waitstaff for its Java House branch in Eldoret. The role covers serving customers, taking and processing orders, handling payments and keeping the counter and restaurant tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Present menu options and lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences
• Take orders, deliver them to the table accurately according to the ticket, and present menus and answer questions about items, beverages and services
• Monitor guests' dining experience and address concerns promptly and courteously
• Ensure there is enough change, maintain shift float money and close counter variances on time
• Take care of counter machines and present bills on time
• Order items in Vuka for the store, receive goods from suppliers such as Foodscape, key orders into the POS and pack and dispatch orders from aggregator tabs
• Clear tables and counters after guests finish, keep the restaurant clean and uphold high hygiene standards
• Report R&M or IT issues to the Area Manager and complete closing duties of the branch

• Proper planning skills, inter-personal skills and good communication
• Result oriented, self-driven, articulate and proactive
