Website Developer Intern

About the role

Technet Medical Marketing Agency, a digital agency focused on patient acquisition for cash-pay healthcare practices, is looking for a Website Developer Intern in Nairobi. The intern supports the development, maintenance and optimisation of client websites, working closely with marketing, design and development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining websites using WordPress, including creating and customising themes and plugins, and keeping content, images and plugins up to date.
• Manage the WordPress CMS (posts, pages, menus, media), configure and troubleshoot plugins, and ensure regular security updates and backups.
• Monitor website performance, speed and uptime, implement basic SEO best practices, and report technical issues.
• Update website content in line with marketing campaigns, upload blogs, banners and landing pages, and coordinate with marketing and design teams.
• Troubleshoot website errors and bugs, support integration of third-party tools, and provide basic technical support to internal teams.
• Document completed tasks and report progress to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Web Design, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and creativity in web design and user experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with website hosting environments and CMS management.
• Good understanding of website performance and SEO basics.
