Welder

About the role

The Partnership Agency is hiring a full-time Welder in Nairobi. The Welder cuts, shapes and joins materials to build structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of welding techniques, pays close attention to detail and is committed to safety.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed drawings to determine specifications.
• Perform MIG, TIG or stick welding to join, fabricate and repair metal and other weldable materials.
• Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, and carry out routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members so project specifications are met.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to keep the workplace safe.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust work to produce high-quality welds.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding preferred.
• Proven experience as a welder.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
