Workshop Controller (Automotive Sales)

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Workshop Controller for its automotive sales business in Kitale. The role coordinates vehicle repair estimates, supports the service advisor team, oversees warranty and policy cases, and ensures quality and timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation of accurate vehicle repair estimates
• Support the service advisor team with on-site advice to customers so they are assured of quality service within agreed timelines
• Coordinate warranty and policy cases so they are handled appropriately
• Lead and support other technicians in problem analysis and resolution
• Monitor productivity and efficiency, follow up and sign off job cards, and ensure quality work
• Keep service advisors informed of repair progress and changes to repair estimates so customers are notified promptly
• Report incidents and near misses to the Workshop Manager and HR office and lead incident investigations
• Maintain special tools, shared hand tools, workshop manuals and equipment in good working order, clean and stored safely
• Review work in progress and new bookings each morning to allocate manpower appropriately
• Train and instruct employees in the shop, and follow up on urgent sublet repairs to ensure quality
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and workplace organization (5S)
• Advise customers on vehicle reparability and repair time through service advisors, and handle complaints promptly

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team-leadership role, preferably in a dealership or workshop
• Proven experience in workshop operations, vehicle diagnostics, repair planning and quality control

Required skills

• Strong customer-service and complaint-resolution skills
• Experience in vehicle diagnostics and repair planning
