Youth Network Officer – Development Opportunity

About the role

The Youth Network Officer will support the IPPF Africa Region in strengthening its Youth Action Movement (YAM) and fostering youth‑led approaches across member associations. This development opportunity is aimed at an emerging professional passionate about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), youth leadership, and social justice.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and promote youth‑driven actions to ensure an inclusive, vibrant regional youth network.
• Support YAM in setting and delivering its strategic plans.
• Facilitate meaningful youth participation and youth‑led accountability in regional programmes, advocacy, and communications.
• Integrate youth perspectives into workshops, forums, and Federation‑wide activities.
• Contribute to pathways that strengthen youth leadership, mentorship, and network development.
• Champion safe, inclusive, and anti‑racist engagement of young people within the Secretariat.

Required profile

• Young professional (maximum 25 years old at application) with some experience in NGOs, youth development, or SRHR.
• Strong commitment to SRHR, youth empowerment, and social justice.
• Ability to work collaboratively with YAM, member associations, regional colleagues, and global IPPF teams.
• Understanding of safeguarding, diversity, and inclusive practices.
