Accountant – Hospitality & Hotel Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team within the hospitality sector. The role focuses on managing the financial operations of our hotel and related services, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with Kenyan regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and perform reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely filing of VAT, PAYE, corporate tax and other statutory obligations.
• Monitor internal financial controls, transaction processing and risk management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to maintain efficient financial processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CPA(K) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hotel or hospitality environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera accounting system.
• Proficiency with SunSystems accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
