About the role
Diageo is seeking a Customs & Excise Manager to lead customs and excise activities across its East Africa footprint, covering Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The role will implement customs and excise strategies, ensure compliance and support the finance team in delivering balanced growth.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist support on customs issues such as product classification disputes, customs valuation and inter‑company selling price reviews.
- Manage queries from customs and excise authorities related to imported products and raw materials used in East Africa.
- Oversee customs and excise aspects of international trade projects to deliver shareholder value and mitigate exposure.
- Identify inefficiencies, drive process improvement and recommend changes to optimise processes, systems, policies and procedures.
- Stay up‑to‑date with regulatory changes, assess risks and opportunities, and propose appropriate actions.
