Accountant with Audit Experience – Westlands, Nairobi

About the role

Our client, an audit firm located in Westlands, Nairobi, is seeking a qualified Accountant with audit experience to join the team on a full‑time basis. The role involves supporting senior auditors and handling core accounting functions within a dynamic financial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and file sales and purchase invoices.
• Handle payroll processing and ensure accurate payments.
• Maintain spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers, and journals.
• File statutory returns (VAT, NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, WHT, WHVAT).
• Update and maintain procedural documentation.
• Liaise with third‑party providers, clients and suppliers.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor daily communications.
• Prepare regular reports for management.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field.
• ACCA or CPA qualification, or actively pursuing one.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in audit.
• Working knowledge of the Kenyan iTax system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online or Xero.
